Description: Oak Hill School offers a twelve-month community-based education program for day students and residential students with severe multiple disabilities. The data-based education program places emphasis on areas of self-care, daily living skills, gross and fine motor skills, communication, functional academics, and vocational training. A Transdisciplinary Team approach is used: occupational, physical, speech and behavioral therapies are available either as a direct service or on a consultant basis. Teachers, nurses, assistive technologist specialist and therapists collaboratively design instruction using state of the art technology to improve the teaching and learning process in both the education and residential settings. Students attend Oak Hill classes located in public schools. Residential students live in supervised community group homes. This model promotes the inclusion of Oak Hill students in the life of their school and home communities.
